Feed Anchors: beta release
Most of my time last week went on this new free service called Feed Anchors, a website that converts virtually any RSS feed into a news broadcast. An introductory video follows:
Please download it from www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer and refresh this page once installation is complete.
There was some basic actionscript involved and a careful planning for the sequence of events, as well as designing the visual elements that accompany the whole presentation of the RSS feed. Yet the website is still in it’s beta phase and a lot could be improved/added.
The project itself is interesting because it’s an original idea no one else has tried (successfully) before, moreover a service that could really push RSS onto something more than plain text in the future. And for me the greatest feature is that it scales gracefully to any screen size, so you can use it even on mobile devices, while on the road.
