Modus Website

The first project I got assigned to when I went to work at Modus was the homepage of the company. Of course it had to be prestigious and clever. This is a flash website, created from scratch, solely by myself. Here is a screen of the final result:

My boss had the initial concept to create something similar to the iTunes viewer. I ended up creating many different animation sequences for the slide show, just to find the right one that would please the other colleagues.

The flash file itself is very customizable with variables controlling many things – the stage size, how the images fade out or tint out to the background, at what angle they are skewed giving an impression of pseudo-perspective and more. In addition, it was connected with the company’s CMS, storing the content in a database and having a script produce an XML file to import it inside the flash website. Overall, it’s a pretty stable construct considering that it was a solo job.
