Young Men’s Health – Case 4: James

October 1st, 2007 by Makis

This exercise was sponsored by Andrology Australia in association with the Department of General Practice Monash University and ThinkGP.

This was the last of four case studies on caring for the reproductive health of the younger male. These cases included managing androgen deficiency, testicular cancer, male infertility, premature ejaculation and Klinefelter’s syndrome.

The development was pretty straight forward – I created the back end XML file and included some media files (videos, images).

Prostate Cancer Risk Management ALM

August 10th, 2007 by Makis

This online education was created to run with the Educator application. My work on this one was supplementary, creating only the initial draft of the XML for the exercise. The XML was later splitted in three separate sections.

Prostate Cancer Risk Management – Case 3: Max

August 6th, 2007 by Makis

This program is sponsored by The Cancer Council Queensland, the Australian Prostate Collaboration and Andrology Australia. The third of 3 case studies follows the management of a patient who has undertaken a PSA test.

As usual, I created the XML file that is used by the flash application and did the required image processing on the supplied material.

Prostate Cancer Risk Management – Case 2: Bill

July 20th, 2007 by Makis

In the second of 3 case studies from The Cancer Council Queensland follow the case study managing an asymptomatic patient who requests testing for prostate cancer.

I worked on the XML back-end and did the necessary image processing while testing everything is appearing properly on the flash front-end.

RACP Case 1 – Chlamydia

July 13th, 2007 by Makis

This case study was sponsored by The Royal Australasian College of Physicians and Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine in association with ThinkGP. It was the first of three case studies as part of an ALM on sexually transmissible infections and Chlamydia. Each case had a different focus covering sexual history taking, testing for sexually transmissible infections and patient identification.

I wrote the back-end XML file that loads all the text and other media from external files (audio, video, images). I had to do some modifications on the flash application to include a custom help button and did the required image processing on the supplied material.
