Feed Anchors: beta release

February 11th, 2008 by Makis

Most of my time last week went on this new free service called Feed Anchors, a website that converts virtually any RSS feed into a news broadcast. An introductory video follows:

There was some basic actionscript involved and a careful planning for the sequence of events, as well as designing the visual elements that accompany the whole presentation of the RSS feed. Yet the website is still in it’s beta phase and a lot could be improved/added.

The project itself is interesting because it’s an original idea no one else has tried (successfully) before, moreover a service that could really push RSS onto something more than plain text in the future. And for me the greatest feature is that it scales gracefully to any screen size, so you can use it even on mobile devices, while on the road.

Feed Anchors: Alpha release

January 21st, 2008 by Makis

I spent the weekend creating the new service called Feed Anchors – an online news broadcast made out of any RSS feed. It’s still in an early stage and needs more work before an official release but the core functionality is already there and you can enter any RSS feed to read it out loud as a proper news cast.

I will be updating it’s status here and probably create a walk through of the user experience when most of it is finalized. Until then have fun with the early alpha…

Modizoids – Landing page

This was a fairly simple landing page for Mobizoids UK.

I focused on creating clean XHTML-CSS code and did some flash editing to make the animations hit perfectly to the layout.

Pertussis – Preventing adult to child transmission

November 28th, 2007 by Makis

Created for Think GP, the main learning objectives for this module are to recount the nature, outline the health burden and describe the transmission of pertussis.

As usual, I created the XML file driving the exercise from the back-end, did some graphic work on the background and images and some supplementary flash development.

One of latest modules I created for Think GP, this is an introduction module on medicolegal issues.

My personal work involved the creation of the XML file that drives the exercise in the back-end as well as some basic graphic work for the background and other images.
