TuneMo – Too Hot for TV

June 6th, 2008 by Makis

This was the second set of flash interfaces I created for TuneMo. It was a complete re-write over the first set as it was structured differently and

Again this was all XML-driven, the playlist and content, and it is skinnable with all the assets loaded from external files. I spent some extra time fine tuning the animation sequence and creating custom elements like the video control buttons outside the player.

Am I games

Here is my web front for submitting my game development work. I aim in producing games that have their own unique character and sometimes extend the lines of game development by introducing new elements never seen before in video games.

For the website I did the custom graphic design, used Template Blocks as the template back-end and wrote the required content. Some additional JavaScript was used to enhance visually the site.

Perhaps I should explain the background I chose as it may seem out of place at first glance. It’s a subtle reminder of the subtitle (Virtual Experience Games) – the scenery is fictional and can replicate itself infinitely, yet it is realistic enough to convince the visitor it is a real city…

WordPress Plugin: Post Version Control (v1.0)

May 14th, 2008 by Makis

Posts can be grouped in many ways in WordPress but there is no direct version control system. This plugin offers a lightweight solution if you want version control for a group of posts.

To make this work you define a keyword for each version control group you want to create. Then use that keyword as a prefix in the post name of each post in that group. The plugin will sort out the latest post automatically and label the rest as outdated.

It also let’s you have a URL that will always point to the latest post of that version control group. That way you can give out the URL to others and be sure that your visitors will always be viewing the most recent post.

This plugin will automatically:

  • Define if a post is part of a version control group.
  • Search and locate the latest post by publish date.
  • Label the older posts of the group as outdated.

This is especially practical for bloggers that often revisit older subjects and have to do the linking with the updated posts manually. Or if you are like me and publish material that has versioning applied to it (ex. software) through a blogging platform.

TuneMo – Flash Interface

May 12th, 2008 by Makis

This was created for TuneMo, a mobile content company releasing their content to a worldwide scale. It was used as a landing page from online ad campaigns so the company wanted something eye-catching and simple to use:

This is a completely skinnable interface, which means all the visual elements are loaded from external files and can be replaced pretty easily. The content for the application and the playlist of the videos is driven through XML files. Custom actionscript code was needed for the creation of the gallery and the animation sequences.

It started as a small side-project but ended up being quite demanding and time-consuming. But it was nice to exercise my AS2 skills once again…

Jervisbay Barbecues ~ New website

May 6th, 2008 by Maria

Jervisbay was inspired by the healthy outdoor lifestyle of Australia with its emphasis on fresh flavours and all-natural ingredients. It has a unique environment dedicated to the finest in barbecue equipment, accessories, recipes and ingredients.

I’ve created the XHTML and CSS parts of this website.
The rollover-lit category boxes with the semi-transparent titles make the home page design especially interesting.
